Becoming Advanced Instructor & SuperSaturday

I had the most amazing time in Stockholm last week (ATM and SuperSaturday) – still having goosebumps and euphoric feelings just by looking at the pics and videos from the trip. Four days of hard training with moments of pain and pure happiness. This is why LesMills is not just a groupfitness-sport but it’s a way of living.

First time when I heard about the ATM( Advanced Training Module) I was so hyper… “I need to get there asap! I’m gonna train like a madman for it!!!”. I had been teaching BodyCombat for a long time and attended the AIM in 2006 – now it was time for some more serious action! The ATM included three days of hard physical training, even harder mental work and instructing two times each day (+feedbacks&videos).

Hooked up with Mika Kankainen from Oulu and “The Crazy Finnish-Duo” traveled to Stockholm to become better instructors (or to HTFU???).

1. One Tribe

Right from the beginning one thing was obvious: we were there not for just ourselves but also for every other participant at the course. The positive energy was amazing during the three days and continued also at the SuperSaturday. In the end of the day it was the “bad” humor that kept us going thru those thousands and thousands of sidekicks! We laughted together, felt the pains together and most importantly we grew together.

…and afterwards we partied together, big thanks to all of you!

2. Be Brave

“Courage is not about not feeling fear. It’s about being scared but doing it anyway.”

We were given tasks during the three days that were not too easy, you really had to take big steps away from your own comfort zone. Working away from your own comfort zone was a key to open up yourself, letting yourself go and converting it all to the “fitness magic”.

All these tasks I was given were helping me to improve step-by-step. In the end all the things combined made it as a completely different workout – I was no longer just “cruising thru the tracks” but creating something unique.

3. Change the World

How to convert your internal objectives into external objectives? This was one key element of the course – how we would like the people  in our classes to feel or what to experience. You are not just there for yourself, not just thinking what you want to feel or be better at. Simply put: give more – get more. You want the people to get the authentic feeling of martial arts and the essence of the program, you want them to experience life-changing fitness experiences everytime, everywhere! 😉

After the course I received the Advanced Instructor-status and great feedback from our trainers. Because of the three wonderful days I feel inspired and motivated to take my next huge steps as an instructor. By this I will give more to people and surely will receive more! Big thanks to our trainers Pernilla Blomquist, Fredrik Andersson, Eerika Kiuttu and Sarah Galan!

SuperSaturday

After three days of the ATM-course we went for the biggest LesMills event of the year SuperSaturday 2011. Stockholms Globen was sold-out with 2000 participants, worlds best instructors and lots of familiar faces. Did four classes during the day and could barely walk back to my hotel.

What can I say? Amazing day, amazing work from Les Mills Nordic, amazing presenters and it was amazing to be on the stage with my ATM-team. So much emotions to stand there in front of the 1000+ people punching and screaming.. just check out the pics and you will understand.

Feeling so good now, feeling that this is what I really want to do and that I’m on the right track. Happiness.
